John "Radio" Russell, an Indiana University graduate,is a veteran of over 40 years of local broadcasting having worked at 15 Chicago and suburban radio & TV stations. John has also written 15 books including "Valley Voices", a history of broadcasting in Northern Illinois and Northwest Indiana. He has also worked in puplic relations for the Illinois Department of Transportation. For the past 10 years, John has hosted "Midwest Ballroom" on the College of DuPage radio station WDCB. "Midwest Ballroom" also airs nightly on WTPB-LP at 8:00 pm. John is also the host of WTPB-LP's "Everyday People" interview show as well as a contributor to the Rockford Labor News.
